10. Mobile Crises Training - Crisis Response Strategies for Children, Youth, and Families, Including Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) is proudly presented to you by CEQ Santa Barbara County. Thank you. We hope that you enjoy your course.
Description Mobile crisis teams effectively support youth and their family members during times of crisis; well-prepared and sensitive mobile crisis teams can make all the difference for individuals, youth, and families managing their distress or their loved one’s crisis. In this training, participants will discuss how crises manifest in the lives of children and youth, including youth with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD), and consider how mobile crisis teams can effectively assess crises from a culturally responsive lens. Participants will also discuss the importance of understanding how culture impacts the assessment of and response to crises, with a specialized focus on de-escalation, crisis resolution, and post-crisis planning interventions for children, youth, and families.
