Writer: Jacob Helton, Psy.D.
Jacob Helton, Psy.D., received his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Marywood University in Pennsylvania. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at Chehalem Youth and Family Services in Newberg, Oregon, which included extensive training with at-risk youth and their families. He is licensed as a psychologist in Oregon and most recently worked in an integrated family medicine and internal medicine group for a large healthcare organization. Dr. Helton has worked in hospital, school, residential, and community mental health settings. He has provided treatment to clients across the lifespan and diagnostic spectrum, with an emphasis on the treatment of anxiety disorders, co-occurring medical and mental health disorders, ADHD, insomnia, severe and persistent mental illness, and the aging. He has experience as a technical writer and has provided numerous trainings to mental health professionals, physicians, allied professionals, and direct care staff.
Subject Matter Expert: Danielle M. Herrera, LMFT
Ms. Herrera received her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from University of San Francisco. She currently practices as a Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapist at Sage Integrative Health offering Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy and psychedelic integration. She is also an MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapist trained by Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). She works primarily with substances and substance use disorders utilizing a Harm Reduction philosophy and lens and has worked with the Center for Harm Reduction Therapy, Dr. Jennifer Fernandez and Associates with the California Center for Change, and has provided trainings and resources for Sage Institute for Psychedelic Therapy, The Center for Optimal Living, Queer Lifespace, and various other organizations across the country in support of furthering research and practice for psychedelic psychotherapy and harm reduction psychotherapy.

The target audience for this course is: Beginner level Social Workers; Behavioral Health Counselors; Marriage and Family Therapists; Nursing Personnel; Pharmacists; Psychologists; Substance Use and Behavioral Disorder Counselors; in the following settings: Behavioral Health: Community Services.
