This training focuses on aspects to improve the co-occurring treatment of trauma and substance abuse issues and the integration of both issues when only one condition is under treatment. Using the standards from SAMHSA’s TIP 57 and Concept of Trauma and Guidance for a Trauma-Informed Approach, attendees will have a strong set of skills to treat clients who struggle with historically challenging yet far too common conditions. Evidenced-based practices will be identified and foundational skills will be practiced. There is no requirement for any license or particular background for this training. All attendees are requested to familiarize themselves with the Concept of Trauma and TIP 57 before the training.
